Lizzy’s Fresh Coffee: This coffee roastery is a local favorite, and easy to miss if you aren’t looking for it! There isn’t much seating and it’s nothing fancy, but it’s hands down the best coffee in town. We’re big fans of their cappuccino. (@lizzysfreshcoffee)

Java On Fourth: This is where the locals go to get their coffee fix and read the local paper. We love sitting on their outdoor patio in the summertime, with an iced coffee and a deck of cards. (@javaketchum)

Maude’s Coffee & Clothes: We JUST discovered Maude’s this last trip to Sun Valley, and we’re so glad we did! This vintage clothing store/coffee shop is quirky and fun and their coffee might be tied with Lizzy’s as our new favorite! (@maudes.in.ketchum)

Breakfast

Konditorei Restaurant: This cute little Austrian cafe and bakery has everything from Schnitzel and Gravy to a Cauliflower Hash - and it’s all realllllyyy good - even their coffee! Get there early, it fills up quick. (@konditoreisunvalley)

The Kneadery: “Rustic Homestyle Cooking” at its finest. The Kneadery serves breakfast all day long, and we would fly to Sun Valley just for their Famous Kneadery Benedict. And don’t even get us started on their french toast... (@kneadery)

  • Bobby’s pick: The Famous Kneadery Benedict… and the Kneadery French Toast. YOLO.

  • Alli’s pick: Sun Valley Two, Two & Two

Bigwood Bread Bakery & Cafe: Fresh, healthy, and organic… this spot serves quality breakfasts (and lunch) that are mouth-wateringly good. Oh, and their bread. Oh… their bread. Best carbs in Sun Valley. (@bigwoodbread)

Lunch/Dinner

Johnny G’s Subshack: This no-frills sub shop is just what you want after a long morning on the slopes! They’re super affordable and super-stuffed with the goods. (Johnny G’s on Instagram)

  • Bobby’s pick: The Gobbler

  • Alli’s pick: The Hoka

Rickshaw: Southeast Asian street food with a flair. We love this small and innovative restaurant, and the people that work there couldn’t be nicer! Order a few things and split them - a must try is the K.F.C. (Korean Fried Chicken)! (Rickshaw on Instagram)

Wiseguy Pizza Pie: Bobby has us stop at Wiseguy “Just for a slice” daily while we’re in Sun Valley. There’s something about their pizza dough that is totally addicting - it’s usually our first stop when we get into town!  (@wiseguypizzaboise)

Enoteca: Speaking of pizza… some of the best wood-fired pizza we’ve ever had is at Enoteca. This modern and bustling Italian restaurant is hands down one of the best spots in town - and the word is definitely out. Make a reservation in advance, or go early to grab a seat at the bar.  (@masonfamilyrestaurants)

  • Bobby’s pick: Pork Osso Bucco

  • Alli’s pick: Pizza Diavola

Pioneer Saloon: This western themed restaurant has been a landmark in Sun Valley for years. As they like to say, “If you haven’t been to the Pioneer Saloon, you haven’t been to Ketchum!” This is the spot for steaks, prime rib, and the famous “Jim Spud” a loaded baked potato with teriyaki beef, potato toppings, and lots of cheese. They don’t take reservations, and the wait can be long, but it’s worth it. (Pioneer Saloon on Instagram)

Sushi on Second: Is it weird that one of our favorite places in Sun Valley is a sushi restaurant? We can’t say enough about this funky little sushi spot, from the friendly servers, to the creative rolls, to the homemade ice cream they serve for dessert. It’s a must. (Sushi on Second on Instagram)

Roundhouse: If you travel to Sun Valley in the winter, please treat yourself to lunch at the Roundhouse. There is nothing better than warm fondue and a glass of bubbly on top of a snow covered mountain. It’s a splurge, but it’s an experience you’ll never forget. Make a reservation in advance. (@sunvalley)

Grumpy’s: Meals can definitely add up in Sun Valley, so if you’re looking for an affordable and quirky spot, head straight to Grumpy’s. It’s simple bar food, but it’s done well - especially their burgers. Grab a seat at the bar, and make some friends! (@theoriginalgrumpys)

Warfield Distillery & Brewery: This is our go-to spot for cocktails in Sun Valley. We love going to Warfield for a drink before grabbing dinner at Enoteca (it’s across the street), especially in the summer when their rooftop patio is open! (@warfield_idaho)

The Ram Bar: Located in the lobby of the Sun Valley Resort, we love to come to the Ram Bar to people watch… and have a drink or two, of course. ;) They have a great fondue, too! (@sunvalley)

The Cellar Pub: This local pub is cozy and festive and the ideal place to meet friends for a hot toddy with a side of bangers and mash. (The Cellar Pub on Instagram)

Limelight Hotel: Right in the heart of town, cool, modern, extra-big rooms, an even bigger continental breakfast, and the friendliest staff in town. Oh, and they’re really dog friendly too! It’s our favorite when we’re in Sun Valley. (@limelighthotel)

Knob Hill Inn: This cozy little boutique hotel is nestled right on the outskirts of downtown Ketchum, but you’ll feel like you’re in an Alpine village! And they have fresh baked cookies in the afternoon! If that’s not a reason to stay here we’re not sure what is! (@knobhillinn)

Sun Valley Lodge: This historic and iconic lodge has seen its share of celebrities and world figures throughout the years, and it’s still every bit as breathtaking and luxurious as it was when it opened! (@sunvalley)

Ski, snowboard, hike: These are obvious - but we had to include them. No matter what time of year you’re heading to Sun Valley, you’ll want to spend your time outdoors. There’s so much natural beauty out there, and whether you’re hiking the mountains or snowboarding them, you’re sure to fall in love with this little slice of heaven.

Spa: While Bobby snowboards, Alli hits the spa. The Spa at Sun Valley is one of the best she’s been to - from the treatments, to the relaxation rooms, to the outdoor pool and spa, you’ll be spoiled and pampered every step of the way.

Sleigh Ride Trail Creek Cabin: Sure, this is a little touristy. But it’s really fun, and in the holiday season it’s about as festive of an activity as you can find! You’ll take a horse-drawn sleigh to a cozy little cabin for dinner. It’s basically something out of a Hallmark movie!

Rent E-bikes: This was so fun… Alli cried! Take the Wood River Trail to Hailey (about a 13.5 mile ride) for lunch (go to Power House) and back. You’ll see stunning scenery, eat really good food, and get an awesome work out in while you’re at it!

Sun Valley is about as pet friendly as it gets - especially in the summertime. Take your pups to the Ketchum Dog Park (An old golf course that’s now a dog park - how epic is that?), or head out on one of many dog-friendly hikes. Most restaurant patios welcome pups, and the lobby at the Limelight hotel is a perfect spot to grab a drink and some pizza with your furry friend by your side!
