Hopper & Bur: Solid coffee. Cool vibes. Friendly baristas. We love a good cup-o-joe, and they serve one of the best.

Portola: We have yet to meet people with more passion for coffee than the folks at Portola. You’ll pay double what you would at Starbucks, but after one little sip we’re confident you’ll agree that it’s well worth the extra few bucks!

Hidden House Coffee: Our favorite coffee shop in San Juan just expanded to Santa Ana, and we couldn’t be more excited! Grab a seat at the bar, order a cup of coffee and a sticky bun, and you’ve got the makings for a perfect Saturday morning!

Breakfast:

The Sandwich Society: Their breakfast sandwiches are anything but ordinary… Their hearty, made fresh to order, and come in the most unusual (and mouth watering ways). Two words: Bubble Waffles. Just do it.

  • Bobby’s pick: The Society Burrito

  • Alli’s pick: The Bubble Breakfast

Eat Chow: Great coffee, an extensive breakfast menu, and seasonal specials that continue to knock our socks off - Eat Chow is a favorite of ours! Don’t let the line at the door deter you,  it’s well worth the wait.

  • Bobby’s pick: Breakfast sandwich

  • Alli’s pick: Breakfast BLTA

The Loaded Cafe: Hands down one of the most extensive breakfast menus in the OC. From their fancy crepes to their “South of the Border” specialties - you’ll find breakfast options you never even knew you craved!

  • Bobby’s pick: Machaca

  • Alli’s pick: Veggie & Egg Melt

Lunch/Dinner

Lola Gaspar: This cozy little tapas-style restaurant serves up some of the best tacos in town - and is one of our favorite spots for Taco Tuesday! We’ve been coming here since we first started dating, and we’re still obsessed!

  • Our picks: Get a bunch of different kinds of tacos and share!

Playground: If you had one dinner in Santa Ana, we would tell you to come here. What was once a popular food truck, has since become one of the best restaurants in Southern California. It’s fresh, innovative, and an experience like no other. That’s all we’ll say. Oh - and make sure you get an order of the Uncle Lou’s Fried Chicken.

Dear Lacy: We love their casual, order-at-the-counter, garden-y vibes almost as much as we love the food! The sandwiches and snacks are hearty and fresh, and they have an extensive selection of beer and wine. And don’t forget the churro beignets!

  • Bobby’s pick: House Burger

  • Alli’s pick: BLT
