Batdorf & Bronson Coffee House: They’ve been roasting coffee for over 30 years in Olympia, and they know their stuff. We love their Dancing Goats blend and their signature Cold Brew - but everything is awesome. (@batdorfcoffee)
Dancing Goats Espresso & Coffee Bars: From the team at Batdorf & Bronson, these two coffee shops are home to the same great coffee, and are named after our favorite blend (it’s SO smooth)! Grab one of their yummy pastries while you’re there! (@batdorfcoffee)
Olympia Coffee Roasting Co. (downtown location): We’ll be honest - Batdorf & Bronson and Dancing Goats are by far our favorite for coffee in the area. But we DO like vibes at this downtown spot. And if you’re a coffee connoisseur, it’s definitely worth checking out. (@olympiacoffee)
Breakfast
Our Table: This casual, local diner will have you feeling like family in no time! Their breakfast menu is simple, fresh, and hearty… Bobby is still raving about their bacon! (Our Table on Instagram)
Bobby’s pick: Classic Eggs Benedict
Alli’s pick: Vegetable Omelet
Hart’s Mesa: Love Avocado Toast? Head straight to Hart’s Mesa. Their menu takes an innovative spin on Tex Mex - and they’ve definitely got their brunch game down. Try the Chipotle Benedict. (@hartsmesa)
The Bread Peddler: This bakeshop serves a Classic Breakfast that will bring tears to your eyes. The smashed yukon gold potatoes, the house-smoked cottage bacon… need we say more?! Just go. And get some of their mouth-watering pastries while you’re at it! (@breadpeddler)
Lunch/Dinner
Chelsea Farms Oyster Bar: The best oysters in town. And if you’re not a fan of oysters (like Alli), get the Chelsea Burger. Or the Fish and Chips. Hey who are we kidding - get it all. You won’t be disappointed. (@chelseafarmsoysterbar)
Well 80 Brewhouse: So much more than just a brewery, Well 80 dishes out some of the best casual grub in town. We love the modern, open floor plan, and their hand-tossed pizza is insane. Their flash-fried brussel sprouts are definitely a must too! (@well80brewhouse)
Three Magnets Brewing: Come to this brewery for their beer, but be amazed by the food. Everything we tried was delicious - but our favorite thing was the Avo Fries appetizer! (@3magbrewing)
Bobby’s pick: 3Mag Burger
Alli’s pick: Greener Burger
Dillinger’s Cocktails, Kitchen + Rum Room: This speakeasy-style bar and restaurant is a perfect mix of cozy and fancy… and since it’s housed in an old bank, you’ll truly feel as though you’ve stepped back in time! Reservations are recommended - as it’s definitely the coolest bar in town! (@dillingersolympia)
Swing Wine Bar: You can’t beat the waterfront view, and their wine isn’t too bad either! It’s the perfect spot to order a wine flight, watch the sunset, and indulge in a snack or two. Visit before 6pm and enjoy their “Lush Rush” Happy Hour! (Swing Wine Bar on Instagram)
Honestly, Olympia doesn’t have a lot to offer in this department. We recommend looking at Airbnb (or Expedia for a deal on something clean and basic - like the Doubletree or Hilton Garden Inn). There’s definitely a need for something cool and unique in Olympia… let us know when/if that happens!
Kayak Long Lake with Northwest Paddle Surfers: This was hands down one of our favorite things we did in Olympia. Not only because Long Lake is BEAUTIFUL (and we happened to have the entire lake to ourselves!) - but because we brought our dog on the kayak with us!! If you’re traveling with your pup to Olympia, you have to do this. And send us photos. (@nwpaddlesurfers)
Adventure through Tolmie State Park: Trails, boating, fishing, swimming, bird watching, crabbing, YOU NAME IT. You can do it all here! We went on a hike and explored the beach with our pup - and it was absolutely breathtaking!
Shop & dine at 222 Market: This artisan-style food hall was one of our favorite spots in Olympia. Great restaurants, vendors, and shops that are bound to keep you entertained for hours. Grab breakfast at the Bread Peddler, lunch at Chelsea Farms Oyster Bar, and dessert at Sophie’s Scoops. See? We’ve got your whole day covered! (@222marketolympia)
Olympia is SO pet friendly - we literally brought our dog everywhere with us. It’s a super walkable city, with tons of parks and open spots for pups to play. We loved walking along the harbor with Sally, and everywhere we ate she was allowed on the patio!
