Kit Coffee: Hip vibe, great coffee, delicious pastries and toasts. This has become our go-to coffee shop to work, meet up with friends, or just hang out. Chances are we’ll see ya there! (@kitcoffee)

  • Bobby’s pick: Whatever the barista recommends

  • Alli’s pick: The kombucha (It’s Fermensch, and it’s bomb!)

Honor Coffee Roasters: Located in Lido Marina Village, this picture-perfect coffee shop is light, bright, and quiet - making it an ideal spot to get some work done or read a book. Their coffee is awesome and their chocolate chip cookies are even better. (@honorcoffee)

  • Bobby’s pick: Cappuccino

  • Alli’s pick: Iced Oatmilk Latte

Breakfast

Haute Cakes Cafe: We’ve been coming to Haute Cakes since we started dating, and it’s still just as good as it was then - if not better! The line can be long during peak hours, but the service is quick. You can’t go wrong here, everything on the menu is amazing (we’ve tried it all). (@hautecakescafe)

  • Bobby’s pick: The Sergio Burrito

  • Alli’s pick: Hello and Good Morning Sandwich

The Galley Cafe: Family owned and operated, this little nostalgic diner sits right on the water, and has been a local favorite for years. It’s teeny and tucked away, so make sure you don’t miss it! (And don’t tell too many people - it’s one of Newport Beach’s best kept secrets!) (@galleycafenewportbeach)

  • Bobby’s pick: Breakfast Burrito

  • Alli’s pick: Two Eggs Breakfast

Malibu Farm: This new addition to Newport Beach’s breakfast scene is an exciting one! If you’ve been to the Malibu Farm in Malibu, you know how fresh, healthy, and delicious their dishes are - and this new location is no exception! And it’s right on the water- hands down one of the best brunch spots in town! (@malibufarm)

  • Bobby’s pick: Fried Egg Sandwich

  • Alli’s pick: Green Eggs and Ham

Lunch/Dinner

Bear Flag: We’ve tried fish tacos around the world, and we still can’t beat the ones at Bear Flag. But you really can’t go wrong with anything on the menu, and if you’re a poke fan, theirs is some of the best in town! (@bearflagfishco)

  • Bobby’s pick: Bear Flag Burrito

  • Alli’s pick: Bear Flag Fish Tacos (with avocado)

Gulfstream: Every year we celebrate our anniversary at Gulfstream - that’s how much we love it. From the “Heavenly Biscuits”, to their signature Greyhounds with freshly squeezed grapefruit juice, to the hot fudge sundaes… You’ll want to come hungry. If it’s a nice night, request to sit outside! (Oh, and there’s no corkage fee on your first bottle of wine!) (@gulfstreamnewportbeach)

  • Bobby’s pick: Cedar Plank Roasted Salmon

  • Alli’s pick: Chopped Vegetable Salad with Chicken

Olea: We love grabbing a seat at their bar, ordering some appetizers, and trying a few of their tasty cocktails. A real fun spot for people watching, too! (@oleanewportbeach)

  • Bobby’s pick: Bourbon Braised Kurobuta Pork Short Rib

  • Alli’s pick: American Wagyu Wine Country Burger (we’ll often get an appetizer and share this - it’s huge!)

Pizzeria Mozza: If you’re a foodie, you’ve probably heard of famed chef Nancy Silverton. She’s the co-owner of this quaint little restaurant that’s famous for their wood-fired pizzas and innovative Italian fare. Whatever you do, make sure you get the Caramel Copetta for dessert! (@pizzeriamozza)

  • Bobby’s pick: Lasagne al Forno (only available on the weekends!)

  • Alli’s pick: Margherita Pizza

Billy’s At The Beach: Over 1,500,000 Mai Tai’s have been poured at Billy’s at the Beach - and we’ll cheers to that! They’re some of the best in the area, and the outside patio is a great spot to get the weekend started! (@billysatthebeach)

  • Our picks: Mai Tai’s, baby!

The Snug Bar: Located inside The Cannery, The Snug Bar is Newport Beach’s newest craft cocktails bar - and it’s epic! Their drinks are just as tasty as they are pretty, and the bartenders are friendly and knowledgeable - oh, and they have happy hour from 3:30pm-7pm every day! Boom!

Topside Bar: This is Newport Beach’s only rooftop bar, and for that, it’s worth a stop. The drinks are on the pricier end, but the views make it worth the extra few bucks!

  • Bobby’s pick: Lido Fashion

  • Alli’s pick: Rosé (all day!)

Lido House Hotel: Newport Beach’s newest hotel, the Lido House Hotel is absolutely stunning. From the beachy decor to the nautical architecture, it’s sophisticated and welcoming all in one. Plus, they’re just steps from the beach! (@lido_house)

The Fashion Island Hotel: This stylish hotel is across the street from one of our favorite malls (Fashion Island), making it an ideal location for shopping, eating, and entertainment! (@fashionislandhotel)

Walk Balboa Island: In Alli’s dream world, she’d walk Balboa Island every day. This cute little village has a main street packed with fun shops and restaurants (get a frozen banana!), and homes along the water that decorate for any and every holiday. You’ll want to move!

Rent a duffy: Duffy boats are a big thing in Newport Beach. They’re covered, typically seat about 8 people, and are easy to navigate around the bay. Take one out for an hour or two, bring some wine and cheese, and watch the sunset from the water!

Go stand up paddleboarding: When the weather is nice, there’s no better outdoor activity than stand up paddleboarding, even if you’re a newbie! Head to our friends at Pirate Coast and they’ll take care of you!

Newport is really pet friendly! We bring our dog with us everywhere, as do most “Newpsies”. Most restaurants have patios and there’s a great dog park just across from Fashion Island. Back Bay Bistro is a hidden gem for dog owners, their waterfront patio is one of our favorite spots to watch the sunset!

We’ll be honest. We don’t love the Newport Beach Peninsula. It’s crowded, touristy, and usually pretty dirty. Besides a handful of our favorite restaurants (Mamma D’s, Ho Sum Bistro, Wild Taco...) we don’t typically hang out any further than Lido Marina Village. Again, that’s just our personal opinion. (Don’t hate us, Newpsies!)
